biography so far...

Hello!!

Well this is all very exciting and new!

In prep for Shared Talent India, I have just been asked for my biography and thought it was a good way to finally start my blog, so here it is...

Eleanor Feddon has always had a love and attachment to drawing, art and design. In 2004 she completed a BTec National Diploma in Foundation Studies, with a distinction, at KIAD (Kent Institue of Art and Design). Here Eleanor’s work developed a deconstruct /reconstruct/ recycled approach with an integral use of drawing throughout. This year cemented Eleanor's affiliation with textiles and fashion.

Eleanor obtained a BA Hons in Mutli-Media Textiles at Loughborough University School of Art and Design in 2008. Whilst at university Eleanor developed an interest in sustainable design and took a year in industry where she focussed on eco fashion, working with Junky Styling, Red Mutha and Annie Sherburne.

Eleanor's abstract hand embroideries derived from line drawings combined with her eco approach to design made her a TEXPRINT Star of 2008. She exhibited at Indigo, Paris where she successfully sold her designs to industry and secured future commissions. Eleanor was subsequently selected by Nathen Jenden to become the TEXPRINT colour prize winner and as a result exhibited her graduate collection at Interstoff Asia, Hong Kong.

In Spring 2009, Eleanor secured a residency at Quartier 21, Vienna, in conjunction with SUPERSUPER magazine where she created her collection of one-off reversible Art Jackets.

Eleanor currently lives in London and works part time for Junky Styling and Annie Sherburne, whilst freelancing as an embroidery designer and working on her own eco fashion/textile projects.

it's the strangest thing; writing about one-self in the 3rd person! :)
